This garden outbuilding was already built when our clients bought the house. It was weather-tight but had no external or internal finishes. Our brief was to create a multi-function space which could provide a small office for working from home, room for relaxing and creating music and embroidery. It also needed to provide storage space and act as an occasional guest-bedroom. Our fit-out utilised the high ceiling level with a mezzanine platform providing discrete storage. A raised desk area looks back to the main garden. The building was clad in simple western red cedar timber battens, which were treated to preserve their natural colouring.
