A semi-basement extension to create a new kitchen to the rear of a ground floor garden flat within a converted Victorian terrace in Crouch End, London Borough of Haringey.

The challenge with this project was the connection between the existing lounge and the new kitchen at garden level due to the large drop in floor levels. A new stair was discretely inserted below the existing bay window so that the lounge still retained its function and character. The new extension functions as a kitchen-diner and family room. It can be fully opened up to the garden in the summer.
